In effort to further strengthen its brand, Digitaria and 212 Interactive merge forces to increase Digitaria’s e-commerce offering.
San Diego- Giving new meaning to the words “full-service digital marketing and technology firm,” Digitaria intensifies its market position with its recent acquisition of another well-recognized San Diego brand, 212 Interactive.
212 Interactive was founded in 2003 with a focus on working with emerging and mid-size brands, specifically for the purpose of developing Web destinations and e-commerce solutions. It has represented a wide array of mostly West Coast clients like the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Reader, Munchkin, Blissport, INC Research and Sun Diego. Many of the company’s emerging brands clients will now become a part of Digitaria’s portfolio.
Bill Quinn, managing director of 212 Interactive, who now assumes the Vice President, Strategic Accounts role at Digitaria, says that the agreement with Digitaria was reached because he felt it was a great opportunity. “212 was doing really strong work in e-commerce,” says Quinn. We looked at Digitaria and realized that we could take the strength of Digitaria’s brand client list and bring in our spin on e-commerce, as well as our approach to emerging technologies.”
Digitaria, which has been growing rapidly over the past few years, expects the acquisition to help drastically separate the firm from its competition on a local and national scale.
Daniel Khabie, CEO of Digitaria, sheds light on the acquisition, as well: “This is not Goliath acquires David or anything like that,” says Khabie. “This acquisition is a strategic maneuver for Digitaria to ensure that we can continue to fulfill all of our clients digital marketing and technology needs.
