For the second consecutive year, Digitaria makes the Inc. 5000. And this year the company breaks into the top 1,000.
San Diego- After being listed in 2007 as the No. 1,662 fastest growing private company in America on the Inc. 5000, internet marketing, design and interactive firm Digitaria proves its continuing success on the national stage. On the 2008 Inc. 5000, Digitaria ranked No. 912. Equally impressive is the fact that the company ranked No. 65 on Inc.’s Top 100 Software Companies list, and was also the No. 30 company in the San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos region.
Fast growth is nothing new for Digitaria, however. Its revenue has been steadily increasing by double digits since 2003, when the company reported revenue of nearly $2 million. For 2008, the company’s revenue jumped up to $11 million, and shows signs of another solid year of growth for 2008. Overall, revenue increased by 395.4% since 2003, according to Inc.’s calculations.
But while achieving triple-digit year-over-year growth is entirely possible for Digitaria, the company’s CEO Daniel Khabie says that companies can easily grow too fast, something he wants to avoid.
According to Khabie, “We want to continue to achieve healthy growth, and, in general, our goal is to increase revenue about 30 to 40% per year.” The keys to doing this, he adds, are by “hiring top talent and giving them the freedom to perform their best, working with the right clients who understand that Digitaria will put them on the cutting edge of digital marketing and technology and letting the company’s reputation speak for itself.”
Digitaria has proven its ability to grow and adapt in other ways, as well. In an effort to keep up with client demands and tight deadlines, Digitaria’s workforce has more than tripled since 2005, when it had 26 employees. Currently, there are 85 employees. And, as is the strategy with many of Corporate America’s largest companies, Digitaria has also increased its depth and knowledge in the digital space through acquisition.
